Henry Duncan McLaren, 2nd Baron Aberconway
(1879-1953)

Known For: Aberconway was an industrialist and chaired for both John Brown & Company and the Tredegar Iron and Coal Company, as well as being the founding chairman for the Design and Industries Association. He was also an avid horticulturalist and bred mainly rhododendrons and magnolias and sponsored many botanical collections.

School days: At Eton 1892 – 1898. Aberconway won a number of prizes in Trials while he was at Eton and won the Oppidans prize twice. He also gained a distinction in Trials 6 times.
