James Fisher
(1912-1970)

Known for: Fisher was a naturalist and ornithologist mostly known for his radio and television broadcasts on natural history subjects. He is known for presenting the Birds in Britain radio series on BBC Radio and was also one of the members of the 1955 Rockall expedition.

School days: Fisher was part of the Scientific Society and the Natural History Society while at Eton. He seemed to have demonstrated a strong interest in natural history while at Eton, having read papers on subjects such as ‘The Polar Regions’ and the ‘Amazon’.
