Known for: Wilson was an auctioneer and the chairman of Sotheby’s. He is attributed with introducing currency converter boards and satellite links during auctions, as well as telephone bidding.

School days: Wilson’s main achievement at Eton was winning the Junior Luddington Land Prize in 1926, which is given to those who produce outstanding work on the topic of agriculture.
